The barrel cactus always plays a third fiddle to the saguaro.  A lot of visitors think that they are looking at a saguaro, but there are many differences between the two plants.  One of those differences is the ring of beautiful flowers that turn into a yellow fruit.  As opposed to the blossom of the saguaro that turns into a red fruit.
